Year 10 Information Evening

Dear Parent/Carer

Your son/daughter has now embarked upon his/her Key Stage 4 courses. In order that all students are able to fulfil their maximum potential, we feel that it is important that you as parents/guardians are aware of all the implications of GCSE and BTEC work. We would, therefore, like to invite you and your son/daughter to an evening seminar at school, where you will have an opportunity to hear about the various course requirements and the provision for supporting students. In particular, there will be focus upon the requirement to produce coursework and controlled assessments, a feature of Key Stage 4 courses which can present problems for some students. Senior staff and Year 11 students will be available to discuss issues and answer any questions you may have.

The Key Stage 4 Evening will be held on Thursday 13 October at 7.00 pm. We are hoping for a full turn out of parents/carers because the evening is so important in consolidating the three-way partnership (parents/carers, students, teachers) which is so essential to GCSE success.

We look forward to seeing you on the evening.

Yours sincerely

Stephen Brady (Headteacher)

Heath Adams (Head of Year 10)
