Holocaust Survivor Visit

Students were lucky enough to have a visit from a Holocaust survivor recently. Mr John Dobai was born in Hungary and lived through the Nazi ghettos of Europe.  He came to tell his story and pass on the message that we all have a responsibility to stand up to discrimination of any kind.

Student Laura Callard said:    "Meeting a man that had survived the Holocaust was amazing. It was a once in a life time opportunity and has really reminded us of the horrors that many people faced. It really bought it home how discrimination can cause so much pain. If there is one thing that I take from the Holocaust it’s that if I know or think something is wrong I should say something. I should stand up for what is right. He told the story of his life in such a heartfelt way that really made you think about how dangerous discrimination really is in the real world."
