School Charities Update

Wow! what a fantastic start to this academic year.
So far we have sent 215 shoeboxes for the Samaritans Purse charity.. our best ever!
Through the Macmillan Coffee morning and Cake sale we raised £312.59.
For Children in Need we raised £142.18, again by selling cakes. (Dene Magna students certainly like their cakes!).
Our non uniform day on 11/11/11 raised a staggering £640.60 for the Royal British Legion.
Ms Marshall is currently running a 6 Nations Rugby Competition to raise money for one of our chosen charities; Time and Place (www.timeandplace.org.uk).
We intend to participate in Sports Relief on Friday 23 March by either completing a mile or an obstacle course.
We are also supporting Phil Packer (www.philpacker.com) as he embarks on his 2012 mile walk in 2012 for the British Inspirational Trust (BRIT). We are really hoping that he will visit us here at Dene Magna and that we can walk with him. In order for us as a school to complete 2012 miles we will be doing our annual sponsored walk later in the academic year.
Charitites we are supporting this year include Time and Place, CRY (cardiac risk in the young), Macmillan, Samaritans Purse, Teenage Cancer Trust, Sport Relief and our Kenya link school.
At Dene Magna School we pride ourselves on our charitable work; we really hope that we make a difference to peoples lives.
Thank you for your continued support.
