Pastoral Update

27 March 2015

Dear Parent/Carer

We are at Easter already.  The weeks have flown by and there have been so many highlights from sport to the school production.  Before we all begin our break I wanted to reflect on key issues that have arisen this term and need attention on our return.

Attendance
Attendance is a key factor in making progress and the school’s target is 96%.  We congratulate all students that have achieved the 96% target.  The current picture with the tutor groups is shown below, the figures are for September to March. We would be delighted to see so many more tutor groups achieve the target of 96% and be rewarded for their efforts.  Well done to 7CDA who are currently in the lead!

Uniform/Hair
Over the last few weeks we have had students wear black jeans, hoodies and trainers to school.  Can we ensure that all students have the correct uniform including black leather or leather look shoes on their return to school on Monday 13 April.  This also includes hair being tied up.

Phones
We have seen an increase in students using their phones, therefore if any student uses their phone in lessons then they will be sanctioned with a Friday Formal detention.

Energy drinks
If any student is caught in possession of an energy drink then it will be confiscated.  Any student who continues to bring them to school will be sanctioned with a Friday formal detention.

Chewing gum
If any student is caught in possession of chewing gum then it will be confiscated.  Any student who continues to bring this to school will be sanctioned with a Friday formal detention.

Could you please sit down with your son/daughter and discuss the matters above. Thank you for you continued support and have a fantastic Easter holiday.

Yours sincerely
