Achievement Evening 2015

Press Release - Achievement Evening Dene Magna Wednesday 15 July 2015

Dene Magna’s 22nd Annual Achievement Evening took place on Wednesday 15 July.  The Guest of Honour for this year’s event was Richard Whincup, who is a university lecturer, rugby coach, motivational speaker, course instructor, staff trainer and primary coach on the Mcguire Programme. Richard continues to conquer his severe stammer with the help of the Mcguire Programme, which transformed him from a shy non communicator to a confident person who overcame his difficulties and has achieved many of his ambitions. As well as recognising the achievements of over 90 students, there were entertaining performances, from the Year 10 GCSE Drama Group, School Jazz Band and Choir.

Stephen Brady, Headteacher, acknowledged the impressively high number of achievers throughout the year at Dene Magna and the evening was a demonstration of this. He said, ‘We are delighted to have once again celebrated the efforts and achievements of the members of our school community.  The evening is so special and the sheer number of winners was testament to the incredible partnerships that exist at Dene Magna between students, parents, staff and the wider community.   As ever, we are proud to be Dene Magna.’
