  • March 2011 – Headteacher met with various academy heads to discuss the benefits and risks
  • 20/4/11 – Preliminary discussions with Leadership Group and Danny Haines (Chair of Governors) on feasibility
  • 10/5/11 – Governing Body meeting and FAQ and further info given out
  • 12/5/11 – Staff consultation begins
  • 17/5/11 – EGM – full Governing Body agreement
  • 20/5/11 – Letter to parents/carers outlining intention. All unions contacted
  • 23/5/11 – Staff Q&A forum and all stakeholders contacted by letter. FAQ posted on website
  • 6/6/11 – Parents forum Q&A
  • 8/6/11 – Application submitted to DfE
  • 28/7/11 – Final sign off of application funding agreement and issues ordered by DfE to change status to academy
